After four attempts at finding a compromise, AREA welcomes the agreement found by the Lithuanian Presidency, the European Parliament’s rapporteur and the European Commission. It will provide certainty to the refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump sector, which will be able to plan its decisions and investments accordingly.
AREA, who has been closely involved since the review of the current Regulation started, is satisfied with the outcome and will start working on the follow-up. Graeme Fox, AREA President, said: “The revision of the F-Gas Regulation has mobilised AREA and its members in the past four years and I am glad this process has managed to come to a positive end. Refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump contractors will play their unbiased role towards end users for a safe and efficient gradual transition to alternative solutions.”
