4th edition (2026):

How to participate in next year's competition?

1) Record a video showing best practices in the following categories:

  • Category A - RACHP Youth Best Practice (under 25 years of age): Handling of a refrigeration, air conditioning or heat pump system
  • Category B - RACHP Women in Cooling (of any age) Best practice / Design and application Excellence 

2) Upload your video on AREA RACHP Facebook page or send to info@area-eur.be

Video Competition 3rd edition

 

2nd edition (2024):

The refrigeration industry celebrates a new champion as Charlotte Robinson from the UK clinches the top spot in the second edition of the Women in Cooling video competition. 

Robinson impressed the judges with her hands-on practical troubleshooting of a compressor, showcasing her expertise and technical acumen in the field.

The competition, which underscores the vital contributions of women in the refrigeration industry, saw eight female professionals vying for the title. This year's event was particularly notable for its emphasis on practical and design skills, with Robinson's entry highlighting the importance of problem-solving abilities in maintaining and optimizing refrigeration systems.

About the 1st edition (2023):

The name of the winner was released on the 8 June during the conference #20EUconfRAC: LΓ©ana Khaled Payan, young French technician of Axima Refrigeration, who was evaluated as the best among the 12 participants. Congratulations to her!

The International Network for Women in Cooling (INWIC) was established in 2022 to advance the engagement of women, promote career opportunities, and increase their overall participation in the refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heat pumps (RACHP) sector.

INWIC is led by the World Refrigeration Day (WRD) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) OzonAction as the joint Secretariat, in cooperation with a highly-reputed group of founding partners active in this sector – AIRAH (Australia), AREA (Europe), ASHRAE (Global), CAR (China), FAIAR (Latin America), IIR (Global), IOR (UK), ISHRAE (India), JSRAE (Japan), U-3ARC (Africa), and Women in HVAC&R (North America).
