AREA Vice-President International Affairs Marco Buoni wrote an article in the OZONACTION Special Issue 2017 published by UN Environment (former UNEP).
Whereas the publication focusses on low global warming potential alternatives, the article explores "The role of the refrigeration service sector in the transition to alternative refrigerants". It reviews the various initiatives (and notably guidance documents) that AREA has carried out to ensure that contractors are ready for the transition to alternative refrigerants. UN Environment and AREA are currently cooperating in encouraging and assisting countries in establishing national certification schemes for RAC technicians.
