On Wednesday 26 June, AREA and its members will be celebrating World Refrigeration Day 2024.
This year’s World Refrigeration Day (WRD) will focus on the theme ‘Temperature Matters’ (#temperaturematters #WREFD24). This year’s campaign will explore the broad and vital impacts of the refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump industry, extending beyond efficient cooling and heating to encompass crucial aspects of indoor environmental quality.
On this occasion, we are delighted to share some activities that AREA members are hosting on and around this key day for our sector:
 | CSG & ATF bring the World Refrigeration Day 2024 at the Turin University. On June 26, 2024, Politecnico di Torino will host "Temperature Matters: Opportunities for New Generations in HVAC/R" organised by Centro Studi Galileo in collaboration with the university and Associazione dei Tecnici del Freddo.  | The Institute of Refrigeration Ireland is presenting a series of events in Belfast for World Refrigeration Day 2024. An afternoon of celebrations will be held in the very building Lord Kelvin was born in, on the 200th anniversary of his birth. You can download the flyer of this event below.

 | From March 25 to 28, NVKL organised the Play it COOL! week. 22 schools/companies participated, introducing the sector to around 675 children aged 11-13 in a playful manner. The campaign included guest lessons in refrigeration and climate technology and the Play it COOL! game developed by NVKL. On June 26, NVKL will draw attention to our profession on their social media channels, linking it with a nice competition, and referring to the theme and hashtags of the day. On September 26, NVKL will draw attention to the importance of our sector in the context of WRD during a joint event on the transition to sustainable energy and the challenges with regard to electric grid capacity.

 | SZ CHKT Slovakia : On 24-25 June, is organising a meeting of Slovak and Czech teachers for RAC and HPS at two Slovak manufacturers of commercial refrigeration, the companies Ditl Metal and Pastorkalt in Nové Zámky. A total of 30 teachers will see production, listen to lectures and get to know each other about the state and development of teaching, knowledge and skills training in the refrigeration industry.
