The contest organized by AREA and World Refrigeration Day (WRD) dedicated to the female professionals in the HVAC/R sector has now entered the final phase.
In 2023, it was Léana Khaled Payan, young French technician of Axima Refrigeration, who was evaluated as the best among the 12 participants. All 2023 videos can be found on our Youtube Channel.
This year, there are eight participants in the contest, open for the first time not only to those who work in the field as technicians but also to those involved in engineering design.
The participants are:

- Tie Kieuw Lee – Netherlands
- Chloe Jennings – United Kingdom
- Sharon Byrne – Ireland
- Carmen Rodriguez Ortiz – Ireland
- Zdenka Bukovinová – Slovakia
- Joanne Mitchell – United Kingdom
The winner will be chosen in the coming weeks, and will be awarded during the Annual General Assembly of AREA, which will take place 23-24 May in Belfast, with an invitation to the event (dinner and accommodation provided by members of AREA, ATF and BESA) and with a €1,000 prize awarded by World Refrigeration Day.
