AREA would like to express its great satisfaction with the historic agreement on a global phase-down of HFCs that was reached in Kigali last week. The deal is an important step towards the achievement of climate protection objectives for the benefit of future generations.
AREA has been working for many years on reducing HFC emissions from leakages in particular through the promotion of high standards and guidance for refrigeration and air conditioning contractors. AREA is also engaged in the dissemination of such work and knowledge at international level notably in cooperation with UNEP.
